The "Shree Krishnashtkam" (Śrī kṛiṣṇāṣṭakam/ श्रीकृष्णाष्टकम् ), composed by the revered 16th-century saint and philosopher Shree Vallabhacharya, is a profoundly beautiful and soul-stirring hymn dedicated to Shree Krishna. The main theme running through this eight-verse prayer is the intense longing for total surrender and the ultimate spiritual aspiration of a devotee: pure devotional service (Dāsyam) at the Divine's lotus feet.
Rather than seeking material wealth or even personal liberation (Mukti), the poet passionately begs for the privilege of becoming a humble servant of Bhagavan. Throughout the verses, Vallabhacharya beautifully weaves together Krishna’s two distinct natures: His intimate, sweet pastimes in Vrindavan (Mādhurya) as the beloved of Sree Radhika, and His majestic, all-powerful cosmic identity (Aiśvarya) as the Visveshwar, the Master of the Universe, ultimately presenting pure bhakti as the only means to truly attain Prabhu.

राधापते व्रजजनार्तिहरावतार ।

तस्यासौ व्रजराजसूनुरतुलां भक्तिं स्वपादाम्बुजे
सत्सेव्ये प्रददाति गोकुलपतिः श्रीराधिकावल्लभः ॥ ९ ॥
śhrī-kṛiṣhṇa-stava-ratnam aṣhṭakam idaṁ sarvārtha-daṁ śhṛiṇvatāṁ
bhaktānāṁ cha priyaṁ hareśhcha nitarāṁ yo vai paṭhet pāvanam
tasyāsau vrajarāja-sūnur atulāṁ bhaktiṁ sva-pādāmbuje
sat-sevye pradadāti gokula-patiḥ śhrī-rādhikā-vallabhaḥ
जो भी भक्त इस परम पावन, सभी मनोकामनाओं को पूर्ण करने वाले और भगवान श्रीहरि को अत्यंत प्रिय लगने वाले श्रीकृष्ण स्तुति रूपी रत्न रूपी अष्टक को प्रतिदिन ध्यानपूर्वक पढ़ता या सुनता है; उस पर गोकुल के स्वामी, श्रीराधिका के प्राणप्रियतम, ब्रजराज-नंदन श्रीकृष्ण प्रसन्न होकर, शुद्ध संतों द्वारा सेवित अपने उन पावन चरण-कमलों की अनुपम और अचल भक्ति प्रदान करते हैं।
Whoever among the devotees regularly recites or listens to this supremely purifying eight-verse hymn, known as the jewel among prayers to Shree Krishna, which grants all spiritual desires and is deeply dear to Shree Hari Himself; upon that soul, the Lord of Gokul, the beloved of Shree Radhika, and the precious Prince of Braj, bestows the incomparable and supreme gift of pure devotion at His own lotus feet, which are eternally served by the saintly souls.
