About the cause :

● Jagadguru Kripalu University

The spectacular campus of the Jagadguru Kripalu University under construction at Banara, Odisha aims to provide holistic education, especially to the socio-economically disadvantaged section of the society. Apart from providing comprehensive education in various fields like sciences, technology, medicine, management, humanities etc alike many existing Universities, the differentiating factor of the University aiming to equip the students with the tools of managing the frivolous mind utilizing the scriptural knowledge, in accordance to its motto of 'उद्धरेत् विद्यया आत्मानम्' (Elevate yourself through knowledge) stands out. Most young minds never realize their true potential due to lack of proper guidance. They join a University hoping to acquire the talents required to have a successful future, but merely earning a degree does not equip them with the tools necessary to excel amidst real-life challenges. In this rising era of psychological ailments, it is high time that we realize the incontrovertible role of the mind in overall success and focus on acquiring genuine knowledge effectuating inward growth which is imperative to career advancement also.

JKU will also create Centers of Excellence in core areas, thereby catering to the needs of Advanced Research in the aforementioned modern as well as ancient subjects like Vedic Sciences, Yogic Sciences, Naturopathy etc. It also proposes to provide Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) for enabling the students to be 'job-creators' & not just 'job-seekers'.

The campus will provide an ambiance similar to a Gurukul, but with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities.

● JKYog Health and Wellness Centre

JKYog's 'Healthcare for the Underprivileged' initiative offers allopathic and natural medicine. It caters to the diverse medical needs of the local villagers by providing free and subsidised obstetrics, paediatrics, dental care, and investigations services, along with a Path Lab, X-ray, ECG, and pharmacy. Additionally, a Naturopathy Hospital provides holistic health care through yoga, physiotherapy, acupucture, and other natural, noninvasive, and drugless therapies. The initiative aims to establish a super-specialised hospital for underprivileged communities in rural areas.

● Jagadguru Kripalu Skill Institute

The foundation of JKSI is its 3P value system: People, Planet, Prosperity. All decisions at JKSI are filtered through the lens of benefit to people and planet because true upliftment cannot be achieved without a proper balance of people's and planet's interests. In practical terms, this means, focus is on education and employment opportunities for rural youth and empowerment of women in society. Preference is for sustainable and eco-friendly technology, so installation of solar panels on the rooftops, building bio-gas plant, bringing new technology to the aid of local farmers are some of the other objectives to unfold sustainable social upliftment in the surrounding areas.

■ 1) कलियुग का धर्म क्या है? (What is the 'dharma' of Kaliyug?)

---> "सतयुग में चार पाद होते हैं धर्म के - सत्य, अहिंसा, दया, दान। त्रेता में एक पैर (पद) कट जाता हैं तो तीन रह जाता हैं - दान, दया, अहिंसा। द्वापर में दो रह जाते हैं - दान, अहिंसा। कलियुग में केवल एक पद रह जाता है - दान।"

(Translation - In Satyug, there are 4 limbs of 'dharma' - Truth, Non-violence, Compassion, Charity. In Tretā, one limb gets cut off, so three remain - Charity, Compassion, Non-violence. In Dwāpar, two remain - Charity, Non-violence. In Kalyug, only one remains - Charity!)

● "प्रगट चारि पद धर्म के कलि महँ एक प्रधान। येन केन विधि दीनेउ दान करै कल्याण ॥" - रामचरितमानस

(भावार्थ - धर्म के चार पैर (पद) प्रसिद्ध हैं, जिनमें से कलि में एक पैर ही प्रधान है। जिस किसी प्रकार से भी दिए जाने पर दान कल्याण ही करता है ||)

(Translation - Four limbs of dharma are famed, among which in Kaliyug, one limb is chief. Charity done anyhow, results in welfare only - The Ramcharitmanas)

■ 2) दान किस भाव से होना चाहिए? (Charity should be done by what sentiment?)

---> "श्रद्धया देयम्। अश्रद्धया देयम्। ह्रिया देयम्। भिया देयम्। (तैत्तिरीयो. १-११)

श्रद्धा से चाहे अश्रद्धा से दो, चाहे लज्जा से दो कि सब लोग दे रहे हैं, हमको भी देना चाहिये। लोग क्या कहेंगे। और चाहे भय से दो कि नहीं देंगे तो नरक मिलेगा। भगवान् कहते हैं जो अपने खाने पीने के खर्च के अलावा रखता है अपने पास, वो चोर है। उसको दण्ड मिलेगा, मरने के बाद, इस डर से दे। सब अच्छा है, सब ठीक है। लेकिन जिस पात्र में देगा, वैसा फल मिलेगा। बस, एक फिलॉसफी है।" - Answer by Shree Maharajji

(In the above answer, Shree Maharajji on being asked about the sentiment with which charity should be done says that, it doesn't matter whether it is done with faith or faithlessness, embarrassment of being left out, when all others are participating or from fear of receiving hellish abodes, it will lead to welfare only! God says that those who keep hoarding money even after fulfilling the bare minimum requirements to survive are thieves. One more thing, the nature (gunātit/divine, sātvic, rājasic or tāmasic) of the place where charity is done will decide the result you receive.)

* This project is an endeavour by Swami Mukundananda ji to disseminate the transforming philosophy of Jagadguruttam Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj so that more and more souls are able to unshackle from living superficial, purposeless lives and reach their true potential.

■ About Swamiji -

Swami Mukundananda is a world-renowned teacher of Spirituality, Yoga, and Meditation. He is the founder of the yogic system called JKYog also known as Yoga for the Body, Mind, and Soul. Swamiji is a unique sanyasi (monk), who has a distinguished technical and management educational background as well. ■ About Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj -

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj is the only Saint of this age to be honoured with the title of Jagadguru, the highest authority among all Hindu Vedic Saints and scholars. This title is only given to that Saint who brings about a spiritual revolution in the world through his divine teachings.
