Following the spiritually uplifting Puri Sadhana Shivir, JKYog, in collaboration with Shree Purushottam Vatika, organised a heartfelt Sadhu Bhoj Seva on 9th November 2025 at Jagannath Temple. The sacred initiative was dedicated to honouring the sadhus and sanyasis residing in the holy Dham, reflecting the timeless Indian tradition of serving saints with humility, devotion, and gratitude.

Welcoming the Sadhus with Reverence and Devotion

The day began with a traditional and deeply respectful welcome ceremony for the visiting sadhus. Volunteers and Ashramvasis welcomed them at the entrance with folded hands and heartfelt devotion. As a mark of honour, Charan Prakshalan was performed by washing the saints' feet with fragrant rose water. Chandan tilak was lovingly applied on their foreheads, and flower garlands were offered amidst the melodious chanting of Hari Naam. The atmosphere was filled with sanctity and devotion, creating a spiritually charged environment worthy of the sacred occasion.

Vedic Hymns Filled the Hall with Divine Vibrations

As the sadhus assembled in the hall, Swami Mukundananda was welcomed with the powerful resonance of Vedic mantras chanted by students from a local Pathshala. The sacred hymns created an atmosphere of purity and spiritual grandeur, reflecting the rich spiritual heritage of Bharat. The gathering became a beautiful confluence of devotion, humility, and spiritual culture, where saints, devotees, and volunteers united in the spirit of seva and bhakti.

A Heartwarming Exchange of Respect and Gratitude

One of the most touching moments of the event was the heartfelt exchange between the sadhus and Swamiji. The saints expressed their appreciation for Swamiji’s spiritual mission and the service initiatives undertaken by JKYog. As a gesture of affection and honour, they collectively recited the Hanuman Chalisa and offered Swamiji shawls and flower garlands. The exchange reflected the deep mutual respect shared among spiritual seekers dedicated to the path of Dharma and Bhakti.

Serving the Mahaprasad of Bhagwan Jagannath

The Sadhu Bhoj centred around the sacred Mahaprasad of Bhagwan Jagannath, lovingly served on traditional Abadha Patras and banana leaves. The bhoj included more than twenty authentic preparations, showcasing the rich culinary and devotional heritage of Odisha’s ancient Jagannath Sanskriti.

Every aspect of the seva was carried out with devotion and care, ensuring that the saints were served with the utmost respect and warmth. The offering of Mahaprasad became not merely a meal, but a sacred act of devotion and gratitude.

Thoughtful Gifts and Dakshina for the Saints

Adding a personal touch to the seva, Swamiji presented each sadhu with a thoughtfully prepared gift bag containing essential items, including warm water flasks to support them during their travels. Dakshina was also offered as a humble contribution towards their path of Bhakti Prachar and spiritual service. These offerings reflected the spirit of selfless giving and care that lies at the heart of Sanatan culture.

Strengthening the Spirit of Seva and Welfare

The Sadhu Bhoj Seva at Puri became a beautiful expression of compassion, reverence, and spiritual unity. More than an event, it served as a reminder of the importance of honouring saints and preserving the sacred traditions of Bharat’s spiritual heritage.

Through such initiatives, JKYog continues its commitment towards societal welfare and spiritual upliftment, inspired by the ideals of seva and devotion. Prayers were offered to Bhagwan Jagannath for continued strength and guidance to serve society through more such sacred and meaningful programmes in the future.
