In the spirit of promoting well-being among older adults, a heartwarming initiative took place at JKU Campus on the 3rd of September. The Geriatric Health Awareness Program, organized by Jivan Jagruti Welfare Trust in collaboration with Jagadguru Kripalu University and supported by Jagadguru Kripalu Yoga and Naturopathy Hospital, was a resounding success, bringing together a community of dedicated individuals eager to support and uplift our cherished senior citizens.

The Geriatric Health Awareness Program was more than just an event; it was a celebration of life, health, and the invaluable wisdom of our elderly.
The program's goal was to provide the elderly community with the knowledge and resources required to uphold their well-being and autonomy.

Comprehensive Health Services

As part of the program, a range of invaluable services was provided, catering specifically to the needs of our elderly attendees. One such service was the Bone Mineral Density (BMD) test, a vital assessment to gauge the density and strength of bones. Additionally, muscle strength checks were offered to assess the strength and functionality of muscles, a key factor in maintaining mobility and independence.

Knowledge Sharing and Physiotherapy

The 60+ age group attendees of the program had a fantastic time engaging in informative sessions about common geriatric health issues. These discussions gave essential insights into the challenges and solutions of ageing gracefully.

Geriatric physiotherapy exercises were a key highlight of the event. These exercises catered to the unique needs of the elderly, focusing on enhancing mobility, balance, and overall physical health. These exercises were not just physical; they were a testament to the vitality and strength that our elderly community continues to possess.

The program offered a range of free health investigations, including BMD, Blood Pressure (BP), Pulse, Height, and Weight checks. These investigations served as a valuable resource for the elderly attendees, allowing them to gain insight into their health and well-being.

A Community United for Wellness

The success of the Geriatric Health Awareness Program would not have been possible without the participation and dedication of all involved. This event was a testament to the fact that your health matters, regardless of your age. The community came together to support our elderly population, showing that we are taking meaningful steps toward a healthier and more vibrant future for them.

In conclusion, the Geriatric Health Awareness Program was a heartwarming celebration of elderly wellness, knowledge sharing, and community unity. It reaffirmed the belief that the elderly are a cherished part of our society, deserving of care, respect, and opportunities to live their lives to the fullest. This event was a step toward a brighter, healthier future for our senior citizens and a reminder that their well-being is our priority.
