The campus of Jagadguru Kripalu University in Cuttack buzzed with intellectual fervour on August 26th and 27th, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, as the eagerly awaited Tantra & Tantric Traditions conference unfolded. This meticulously organized event, a collaborative effort between INDICA (Institute for Indian Knowledge Systems) and Jagadguru Kripalu University, brought together a diverse gathering of scholars, practitioners, and researchers from various fields to delve into the profound influence of Tantra.

The event's inauguration was a momentous occasion graced by Nagaraj Paturi, Dean of Indian Knowledge Systems at INDICA, whose illuminating talk on the Significance of Tantra set the tone for the entire conference. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Harmohan Mishra, Former Director of the Center for Advanced Research in Sanskrit at Sri Jagannatha Sanskrit University. He, alongside Dr. S. Ramaratnam, Vice President of Jagadguru Kripalu University, and Smt. Sasikala Ramaratnam, Retired Principal of Kendriya Vidyalayas under the Ministry of Human Resources, delved into topics like "The Question-Answer Matrix: Tantravatara" and explored intriguing concepts such as Maya in Advaita Vedanta, Sakta, and Saiva Doctrines, as well as the Interchange Of Masculinity And Femininity In The Tantra Texts.

The conference drew distinguished personalities from diverse fields, including Shefali Vaidya, Nandita Banerjee, a Bharatanatyam Dancer and choreographer; Dr. Dhurjjati Sarma; Anita Korde; Megh Kalyanasundaram, Director of Special Projects at INDICA; Dr. Malabika Bhattacharyy, Assistant Professor in the Department of Assamese; and Dr. Bijoya Baruah, Professor in the Department of Assamese. Alongside practitioners and researchers, they delved deep into Tantra's intricate tapestry, exploring its profound influence on Art and literature, the History and Antiquity of Tantric Elements, and Tantric Traditions and temple Concepts.

Throughout the conference, participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions that challenged conventional notions and ignited new avenues of thought. The atmosphere fostered camaraderie and sharing as attendees exchanged personal experiences and ancient wisdom passed down through generations. As the enlightening discussions drew to a close, Sri Madhusudan Mishra, Registrar of Jagadguru Kripalu University, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, marking the conclusion of this remarkable conference.
